Good afternoon parents,
We are heading into our third week of the third quarter. We will be doing our STAR reading test tomorrow Tuesday, February 14th. Please make sure the kids get a good night's rest and a good breakfast in the morning.
We will be discussing Benjamin Franklin in Social Studies this week, Benjamin Franklin was a scientist and inventor. He created the almanac and helped write the Declaration of Independence in 1776. He also experimented with electricity and mapmaking. He invented the bifocals as well.
In Grammar, we will be discussing present tense verbs. We will be learning how to write sentences using present and past tense verbs.
In Writing, we will be talking about how to write in sequential order. They will be putting together a smore cookie.
Also, Please do not forget that we are having our Valentine's Day party tomorrow at around 1pm. I can not wait to decorate cookies and do activities with the kids.
The students should have a copy of their reading log and spelling words for the week.
