This Week in Mrs. Kirchner's Class

Good Afternoon parents,

Now that we have began the month of February, we are going to be discussing Black History Month. The students will be learning about different African Americans who helped create new ideas or bring freedom to all . This week, we will talk about George Washington Carver. George W. Carver invented products such as shampoo and lotion by using crops like soybeans and sweet potatoes. He is mostly known for inventing the peanut and peanut butter.
In Grammar, The students will learn about past tense verbs. (using -ed)
In Writing, the students will be writing a fiction story. We practiced how to create their own story last week.

This week is a short week so we will NOT have a reading log or spelling words :)
