In reading, we will be working on summarizing and retelling a story. We will continue to work on sounding out words and working with blends. Students will continue to meet with Mrs. Kirchner in order to set reading goals and to see how each student can improve and move up in their reading! Next Thursday will be the STAR Reading Test. We will work to prepare for this test. I am mainly looking to see that we are improving! Please do not stress about results, as I will more stock into how they are reading during DEAR, and how they are moving up in their reading levels. The STAR test is to help me set goals for each individual student and to see how we are growing and improving as readers!

In writing, we will spend a few days reviewing nouns, verbs, and adjectives. We will work on creating our own definitions for the parts of speech. We will work on the board to create sentences and to mark the parts of speech we see in each. We will write and create our own sentences. On Wednesday, students will take a quick "test" (it will be more of a quiz) to see how well everyone understands before we move on to our next unit!
